Tackling Climate Change From Your Dinner Table?

When we think of climate change, ecological breakdown and the drivers behind it, we often think of large polluting factories spewing chemicals into the atmosphere and plastic bottles chocking up our oceans and water systems. These often feel far away and impossible to tackle on an individual level, however there’s a climate causing element that’s a little closer to home and we can find it in our fridges, kitchen cupboards, and dinner tables. Food. The food we buy, the food we eat, and the agricultural systems behind it.

The growth of unsustainable industrialised agriculture is a key driver of climate change - how do we change course?

Carol McKenna is Special Advisor to the Chief Executive of Compassion in World Farming and works to achieve systemic change towards regenerative agriculture. She is co-editor of Farming, Food and Nature: Respecting Animals, People and the Environment published by Earthscan in 2018.

This session is part of our Planet In Crisis campaign to drive real, science-led, climate action at this year's COP26… and beyond!
